Revolucion de Cuba

Revolución de Cuba, Call Lane, Leeds, UK

I'm a sucker for Salsa music, virgin Pina Coladas and friendly faces. It's got to be the dance nights hosted in Revolucion de Cuba- if you see someone ungracefully crashing the dance floor, it's probably me ...

Meanwood Valley Park

Meanwood Park, Tannery Square, Meanwood, Leeds, UK

Yorkshire is said to have inspired Tolkien when writing Lord of the Rings and it's not difficult to see why. The beauty of the Meanwood woodlands in all seasons is spectacular. Especially in spring when the hyacinths start blooming. It's the best green space in Leeds, hands down. I'm left speechless after every walk (and slightly lost...)

Roberto Gelato

Roberto Authentic Italian Gelato, Leeds, UK

During summer, a refreshing paradise. A tub of two flavours of gelato (mint every time) plus a cannoli to take home? Si grazzi.

Corn Exchange

Leeds Corn Exchange, Call Lane, Leeds, UK

I could stare at the ceiling of the Corn Exchange forever. You'll find it doesn't feel like the standard shopping experience when you go through those double doors. Expect to leave with plants, t-shirts and a smile on your face.

Leeds Playhouse

Leeds Playhouse, Playhouse Square, Quarry Hill, Leeds, UK

It's been a landmark theatre for supporting new and local artists as well as putting on huge spectacular musical shows. I've seen a tonne of work there, but the piece that I always come back to is White Christmas. Sitting in that theatre with people singing along, left me full of Christmas cheer and slightly tearful. Don't get me started...

Listen, Leeds has the Northern down to earth charm and is that perfect size: large enough to have a huge variety of things to do, but small enough to manoeuvre through on foot as a punter. I moved here from Northumberland and have become familiar with the hidden gems dotted around Leeds city centre and the gems of people who live here too. I only hope I can welcome you as much as you all welcomed me.
