Chapter 81

Transform, the UK’s leading festival of international performance, has announced its full 2025 programme – a five‑day takeover of Leeds from 21–25 October packed with theatre, dance, installations and parties.

This year’s edition will bring together 14 companies from 12 countries, exploring topics ranging from pop culture and colonialism to working-class stories, the radical history of reggae, and the exploitation of migrant women’s labour. Expect large‑scale projections, intimate one‑to‑one encounters and even a performance‑banquet.

Highlights include Amrita Hepi’s powerful solo Rinse, Ahamefule J. Oluo’s genre‑blending The Things Around Us, Dan Daw Creative Projects’ acclaimed new work EXXY, Brazilian collective MEXA’s The Last Supper, and Toussaint To Move’s joyful, reggae‑fused Free.

Transform’s trademark mix of innovation and inclusivity is woven through events like PERPETUUM, a city‑wide video installation capturing the movements of Leeds residents, and the late‑night finale Doomsday Disco hosted by Love Muscle.

Creative Director Amy Letman says: “Transform 25 invites us to reflect on where we’ve been and imagine where we’re heading. It’s a moment to pause, connect and dream up new possibilities.”

Transform 25 runs 21–25 October across venues and unexpected spaces in Leeds. All tickets are Pay What You Can – explore the full programme and book now at transformfestival.org.
