The top 5 spots for the best burgers in Leeds

Sometimes there’s not much else that can sort you out like a big, juicy burger. That’s why we’re here to tend to your cravings, save the day, and dish up some of the best burger options that are out there in this dear city of ours. Unzip, and get ready.

Named after an absolute classic movie, this jaunt is not only a fun evening out but does some outstanding, and completely original, burgers. Our personal favourite, unconventional as its not a beef burger – sorry burger purists – is a buttermilk chicken and halloumi concoction that is absolutely delicious. The bacon fries shouldn’t be missed either. The restaurant and bar is a great place to spend a night and for the more adventurous of you, they even host cocktail-making classes to wash down your burgers with.

Now we know this is a chain but the burgers here are actually pretty great, so we couldn’t afford to miss it off the list. Five Guys originated over in the U.S of A, and arrived on the sunny shores of Britain a few years back. It’s really taken our appetites by storm, quickly expanding across the country. The Leeds branch can be found on Duncan Street. The concept is to build your own burger so you just pick whether you want a single or a double patty, and then pick from the 15 available toppings to create the perfect combination. Thank us later.

Not only do we love the iconic woman that is Patty Smith herself, but the burgers served up in this joint are enough to knock you sideways. You’ll find the kids behind Patty Smith’s at the Belgrave Music Hall, which is a plus, because you’ll be able to soak up the atmosphere there and pick from a great selection of craft beer. The team stick to more classic burger recipes like mustard, dill pickles and a brioche bun, but that simplicity definitely pays off taste-wise. Veggies won’t be disappointed either as they do a phenomenal veggie burger too. We wonder if its good enough to convert any burger queens out there.

MEATLiquor makes a great night out because you can combine your burger with a bit of hedonism by way of a few drinks. These guys do your classic beef burger options but also make a stonking fried chicken burger that comes with hash browns! Yes, hash browns and fried chicken. In a burger. All tables are equipped with reams of kitchen roll because it’s always a messy affair, so be prepared and don’t come dressed in your Sunday best.

Don’t think that fantastic pub grub can’t include a super burger. This menu has a few options for burger-lovers, including classics like bacon and cheese but also more adventurous options like dolcelatte and mushroom. Yum. Plus the prices aren’t gonna set you back too much, and that always helps. If you like the burger menu then make sure to return on a Sunday to try the roasts too – they’re delish.
