Live Laugh Leeds: Comedy Roundup – Feb 2026
Larry Budd
Forget blue Monday – have you ever had a blue month? For me, February serves almost no purpose. I have no mince pies left in the bloodstream to sustain me, and the warmer weather seems some sort of time-dilated lifetime away. Not even the commercially concocted Valentine’s Day can shake the funk.
What I’m trying to say is that in February, we’re more in need of a laugh than ever.
Luckily, Leeds is bursting at its Quality-Street-filled seams with great stand-up shows.
These are my top picks.
The City Varieties spoils us, as ever, with two-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Janine Harouri (4th), recent Taskmaster star Ania Magliano (6th) and brilliant gagmaster general Mark Simmons (14th). Also look out for Chloe Petts (15th), Phil Ellis (19th), and the ever-amazing Scott Bennett (27th).
The Leeds Grand Theatre welcomes big-hearted Geordie Chris Ramsay on the 22nd.
The HiFi Club’s comedy club starts the year strongly with Brennan Reece and guests (7th), alongside visits from Alun Cochrane (28th) and Rob Rouse (21st).
The Leeds Playhouse welcomes Sue Perkins (6th) for her first live show in over a decade. Expect hilarious stories from Sue’s decades on some of the UK’s biggest TV shows.
The Wardrobe is stacked with big names for February. The “gleefully irascible storyteller” Desiree Burch (24th), a new work-in-progress from Simon Brodkin (25th) and a brand-new hour from Richard Blackwood (12th).
The Glee Club’s Friday and Saturday comedy nights are back in full swing with guests for February including Nina Gilligan (20th/21st) and Jordan Brookes (same dates). Meanwhile, there’s a tour show of the incredibly likeable Josh Jones on the 26th.
Hyde Park Book Club brings us a “rare gem of a comic” Sam Lake (8th) alongside multi-award winning online comedian Killian Sundermann (25th). Also on the line up and well worth seeing are Scarlett Smith (10th), Stuart McPherson (11th), Thor Stenhaug (18th), Paul Campbell (24th) and Sam Nicoresti (25th).
An honourable mention for the Brudenell Social Club which brings us the deliciously weird Joe Kent-Walters (25th).
Lots to go at, as they say. Enjoy February. AS IF THAT’S POSSIBLE.
