Leeds United Ups Its Game with New Matchday and Conference Facilities at Elland Road

Chapter 81

Leeds United isn’t just making moves on the pitch – the club has raised the bar off it too, unveiling a suite of brand-new premium hospitality and conference spaces at Elland Road.

In a bid to cement its position as one of the region’s top destinations for corporate events and matchday experiences, the club has transformed four spaces within the ground, each designed with its own distinct character and purpose.

Guests at an exclusive showcase event were given a first look at the venues, along with a taste of the menus on offer. From lobster rolls and Wagyu beef lollipops to Yorkshire lamb cutlets and decadent dark chocolate marquise, the food offering was as bold as the interiors.

Four new spaces for every occasion

LUFC 1919 – A nod to the club’s founding year, this intimate 60-capacity suite has the air of a private members’ club. Think rich blue velvet banquettes, antique mirrored glazing, vintage photography, and even the original stadium architect’s plans adorning the walls.

Gary Speed Suite – Dedicated to one of the club’s most cherished icons, this suite can host up to 100 delegates. It’s tailored for conferences, with in-house AV, large screens, and memorabilia celebrating Speed and the wider club.

Hisense Leeds Lounge – Designed for large-scale gatherings, this 300-capacity venue is kitted out with an immersive media wall, perfect for dynamic presentations, launches, or banquets.

The Peter Lorimer Steakhouse – With a Texan-inspired design, this space brings a rustic yet contemporary feel. Featuring a chef’s theatre pass, in-house AV, and versatile layouts, it can flip from a daytime conference to a lively evening dinner with ease.

More than a football ground

Elland Road has long been one of the UK’s most historic football venues, but Leeds United is now positioning it as a powerhouse for events of all sizes. The addition of these suites – alongside the refurbished Centenary Pavilion – means the club can now host anything from intimate board meetings to 1,500-guest conferences.

Abigail Banks, Leeds United’s conference and events co-ordinator, said:

“Elland Road is so much more than the home of Leeds United, it’s also one of the region’s premier destinations for conferences and events. These new suites mean we can now welcome more guests and delegates than ever before, offering premium facilities that leave a lasting impression.”

Yorkshire design at its core

The project was brought to life by DT Sports, a specialist arm of Yorkshire-based design agency Design Tonic, which focuses on creating standout hospitality and sports interiors. The result is four spaces that combine heritage with modern functionality, ensuring Elland Road keeps pace with the growing demand for world-class conferencing and hospitality.

With Leeds increasingly seen as a hub for business, sport, and culture, Leeds United’s investment shows that the club is ready to play in the premier league of off-pitch experiences as well as on it.
