Something stylish is brewing on Harrogate Road. The team behind Leeds’ much-loved café and bar brand Residence has announced the grand opening of its brand-new venue on Wednesday 21st May at 9am, and it promises to be your new favourite all-day hangout.

Blending the cosy charm of a coffee shop with the buzz of an evening cocktail bar, Residence Moortown is the third outpost for the growing brand, following the success of its original Cookridge café and the bustling Headingley site.

By morning, think artisanal coffee, indulgent breakfasts, and brunch dishes that’ll make your Instagram feed look chef’s kiss. But as the sun sets, the vibe shifts from relaxed to refined, with a cocktail bar atmosphere perfect for after-work drinks, date nights or catch-ups with friends.

The evening menu is all about sharing and sampling. Small plates include crispy arancini, baked meatballs, and creamy burrata with fresh pesto. If pizza is more your thing (and let’s face it, it always is), you’ll find delicious options like Vodka Puttanesca, Pepperoni & Hot Honey, and a loaded Cheesesteak. Each dish is perfectly paired with a curated cocktail list that’s equal parts elegance and fun.

Inside, the venue seats up to 100 guests with interiors that blend comfort and contemporary style. But it’s the venue’s history that gives it a unique twist—Residence Moortown is housed in a former Barclays Bank, and the original vault has been transformed into a private dining room. It’s an intimate, atmospheric spot perfect for small gatherings or celebratory dinners.

Outside, a heated terrace seats 35 and is set to be a summer favourite for brunch lovers and evening cocktail sippers alike.

“We’ve worked hard to bring something special to Moortown,” said general manager Nate Smith. “We wanted to create a welcoming space that evolves throughout the day—from fresh coffee and food in the morning to an inviting bar at night. We can’t wait to welcome everyone in.”
