Fluffy Fluffy

The Headrow 

Leeds is no stranger to pancakes, with brunch and breakfast hubs littered throughout the city. However, never before have we seen a Fluffy Fluffy launch, and never have we been so excited!  

In September, Japanese Souffle Bar ‘Fluffy Fluffy’ announced the launch of a brand new branch in Leeds City Centre, making it the first of its kind in Yorkshire. The North American dessert cafe is expanding throughout the UK, with Leeds marking the fourth opening in the country. The cafe is set to host 44 guests in a prime location on The Headrow, making it the perfect spot for shoppers, diners and city-goers. Praised for their light and fluffy pancakes, mouthwatering soufflé cheesecakes, and delicious hot coffees, ‘Fluffy Fluffy’ is the perfect spot for a sweet tooth.

Monica Vinader 

Victoria Quarter, Briggate

If you want to treat somebody special, or even yourself, this festive season, then look no further. Designer jewellery brand, Monica Vinader, have announced their launch in the Victoria Quarter later in 2023, offering the brand’s first full priced boutique outside of London. Draped in rose gold and silver, the vermeil jewellery store has an exquisite offering of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings, each one finely made to be the perfect fit. 

Pizza Pilgrim

Boar Lane 

This November, Boar Lane is welcoming pizza lovers to the newly launching ‘Pizza Pilgrim’, a pizzeria promising a taste of Southern Italy. Bringing their signature Neapolitan to the table, Pizza Pilgrim are celebrating their 10 year anniversary by bringing their restaurant to Leeds for the very first time. With restaurants throughout London and Oxford, Pizza Pilgrim is continually adored by diners for their fluffy dough, mouth watering toppings and tasty sides. 

To mark their launch, Pizza Pilgrim will be giving away 1,000 free slices of their legendary pizza on a first come first served basis. If you want to get your fix, head over to Boar Lane on November 6th, from 12pm onwards. 

The Northern Market

Great George Street

November is the gift that keeps on giving, as beloved brewery Northern Monk announce the opening of a brand new Craft Beer and Food Hall. Taking over the old Assembly Underground, located in the basement of the Grade II-listed former Leeds School Board building on Great George Street, the opening marks the third Northern Monk to launch in Leeds. Promising a beer hall, food market and cocktail bar all in one, you can enjoy the brand’s classic range of pints, extensive wine list and cocktail selection. You can also expect a stellar food service to run as well, with the Northern Monk team working with Falafel Guys, Six Slice Pizza and Big Buns. 

Dr. Martens 

Briggate

Get your boots on and head down to Briggate to see the opening of the brand new Dr. Martens store. Nestled on the Leeds High Street, the designer footwear store is taking over the old Office retail space and transforming it into a brand new Leeds branch, complete with the beloved Dr. Marten’s yellow sign. It is currently unknown whether the launch of the Briggate shop will replace the bootmaker’s current store on King Edward’s Street. 

Sushi Nakamura 

Eastgate, Victoria

Sushi Nakamura brings novelty and elegance to your doorstep as Sushi Nakamura opens in Victoria. Using traditional techniques to cook authentic recipes, the sushi restaurant brings to the table the highest quality ingredients in their premium menu, allowing you to taste a sushi offering as you never have before. Using locally sourced ingredients that are in season, this Japanese superpower is a transition from the Michelin recommended Hana Matsuri, who are evolving from their original branch in Meanwood. 

A true treat to the tastebuds, Sushi Nakamura is an experience as well as a meal, offering you a glimpse into Japan as you’ve never seen it before.

Briggate 

Leading shoe shop Office is getting bigger and better, moving to a shiny new store in the centre of Leeds. Whether you’re after designer trainers or casual lounging slippers, Office is a favourite for shoppers looking for range, style and quality. Currently parked in the Trinity Centre, the footwear specialists are set to upgrade into a larger store on Briggate.

Wendy’s 

Briggate

Wendy’s makes a historic return to the centre of Leeds after a 20 year closure, now nestled on the corner of the Headrow and Briggate. The American chain has been long awaited by lovers of the iconic Wendy’s burger, amidst an opening of 45 openings of the franchise this year alone. The renowned restaurant is home to a classic fast food menu, offering a broad selection of juicy burgers, tasty sides, and, of course, their famous Wendy’s milkshakes. Standing up to a chain of competitors throughout Leeds, including Five Guys and McDonald’s, Wendy’s has been welcomed back to the city with open arms. 

Ann Summers 

Commercial Street

‘Tis the season of change this Autumn, as shoppers in Leeds wave goodbye to an arts and crafts favourite and say hello to a much raunchier replacement. The Commercial Street Paperchase has officially shut its doors and allowed the lingerie powerhouse Ann Summers to take over, where it has moved from its initial location in Thornton’s Arcade on Land’s Lane. The new launch marks this as the second Ann Summers store in the city, with the other standing in the White Rose Shopping Centre. With an offering of women’s lingerie and ‘adult novelties’, shoppers will be delighted to see another Ann Summers name take to the streets.  

Fabrication 

Briggate 

The award winning Fabrication has opened up the doors to its second store in Leeds, welcoming in creatives from across the city. The independently owned shop and creative workspace is a craft lover’s dream, and strives to support micro crafts and design businesses. The brand new Briggate shop opened its doors in October, with a broad offering of craft retail, creative exhibitions and classes, as well as a collaborative workspace for designers. Parked by the Tesco Express, this brand new launch continues the expansion of Fabrication throughout the North, sistering the branch over in York. 

SALT x Hubb

East Parade

The Salt Leeds Tap on East Parade has been a long time favourite, known throughout Leeds for their perfectly poured pints and tasty cocktails. Now, the funky venue has collaborated with game changing coffee brand Hubb. Following their launch this summer in Halifax, Hubb are further expanding their influence on Northern coffee drinkers, bringing their fan favourite Nitro-coffee for the first time. Poured on tap with a smooth and distinctive taste, Nitro-coffee is a rapidly growing trend that makes for a unique coffee drinking experience. This, partnered with the collaboration’s new range of delicious sandwiches and indulgent pastries, makes for an exciting new opening in the heart of Leeds.
