Footasylum Launches Flagship Store at Trinity Leeds
Chapter 81
Trinity Leeds has another big name on the board. Footasylum, the streetwear and sportswear retailer, has opened a 12,000sq ft flagship on the lower ground floor, sitting alongside Schuh and adding more weight to a centre that has been steadily rebuilding its line-up over the past year.
It is a sizeable footprint, and the brand has filled it accordingly. The store carries menswear, womenswear and junior ranges across footwear, apparel and accessories, with the usual heavy hitters in stock. Asics, Converse, Nike and adidas all feature, alongside Monterrain and Forena, plus Footasylum’s own exclusive labels Celebre and Alpyrex for anyone after something less ubiquitous.
The fit out leans into the convenience pitch that has become standard for big retail spaces, with multiple mobile payment points dotted around the floor to keep queues down and checkout quick. It is the kind of detail that rarely gets noticed when it works and is endlessly noticed when it does not.
Shannon Osman, Retail Director at Footasylum, said the brand was glad to be opening in Leeds, describing the store as a showcase for its latest products and exclusive drops within a modern retail setting.
For Trinity, it is another tick in a busy stretch. Footasylum joins a recent run of arrivals that includes Lane7, Jerk Junction, the LEGO Store and schuh, with The Fragrance Shop still to land. Steven Foster, Centre Director at Trinity Leeds, framed it as part of a wider push, pointing to a broadening offer and the centre’s ambition to sit among the strongest shopping destinations in the country.
The opening weekend brought the expected fanfare, with Savvy Baker giveaways, goody bags and a guest appearance from YouTuber Danny Aarons, but the longer story here is the store itself and what its arrival says about Trinity’s trajectory.
