Chapter 81

Get ready for a creative and fun-filled experience in Leeds city centre next week! The Welcome to Leeds Pottery Throw Down is coming to Victoria Gate and it’s the perfect opportunity for families to get their hands dirty and let their artistic side shine.

In partnership with Victoria Leeds, LeedsBID is hosting eight days of free pottery-making, painting, and sculpting workshops. The workshops are open to children of all ages and will take place from February 11th to 18th, with four daily one-hour sessions available on a first-come, first-served basis. With a maximum of 10 children per session, your little ones are guaranteed a personal and hands-on experience.

But, don’t worry if your kids are not interested in pottery making, there are still plenty of other activities to enjoy! From face painting to craft corners and pop-up stalls from local pottery businesses, there’s something for everyone.

James Wilson, LeedsBID’s Projects and Events Manager said, “We aim to animate Leeds city centre with fun and accessible activities for families to enjoy, and this pottery throwdown is the perfect way to do just that.” And Jo Coburn, Senior General Manager at Victoria Leeds, added, “We’re excited to bring a new and interactive experience to Victoria Leeds during the half-term holidays. This is a great opportunity for people to explore their artistic side and create their own unique masterpiece.”

So mark your calendars, bring your family and friends, and head to Victoria Gate (next to Pret A Manger and opposite Hackett London) from February 11th to 18th. With pottery painting workshops, air-dry clay workshops, craft corners, and face painting, it’s sure to be a smashing time!

Daily sessions include:

Pottery painting workshop 10.30am—11am and 12-1pm

Air-dry clay workshops 1.30-2.30pm and 3-4pm

Craft corner 10am-4pm

Face painting 11am-1pm and 2-4pm
