Caribbean street food favourite Jerk Junction opens at Trinity Leeds

Chapter 81

Caribbean street food favourite Jerk Junction has opened its doors at Trinity Kitchen today, bringing flame-grilled jerk chicken, slow-cooked curry goat and pepper steak to the heart of Leeds.

To mark the launch, the team were giving away 100 prizes throughout the day. Customers could spin the wheel for the chance to win free meals, sides, drinks and Jerk Junction merch, while Leeds DJ collective Hypa Crew sets the tone with a mix of dancehall, R&B and garage.

Expect generous plates of jerk chicken, curry goat and pepper steak served with rice and peas and dumplings, all halal, all packed with the kind of flavour that’s earned the brand a loyal following across the north west. Jerk Junction already has sites in Manchester, Liverpool and Wilmslow, and from today (May 12) the Leeds menu is also available on Deliveroo.

Josie Towning, Food and Beverage Manager at Trinity Leeds, said the buzz around the opening has been building for weeks. “There’s been a lot of interest in the arrival of Jerk Junction since it was announced. Bringing a taste of the Caribbean to Trinity Kitchen, it’s going to be the place to be.”

For founder Jake Shaffi, Leeds feels like a natural next step. “We’re all about good vibes and creating dishes that help bring people together. The brand already holds a special place within the communities in Manchester and Liverpool, and we’re sure the people of Leeds will embrace it in the same way.”

The opening caps a busy run for Trinity Leeds, following recent launches from schuh and LEGO. Still to come this year: independent boutique bowling brand Lane7 and Footasylum.
