The Adelphi

Served 12 noon – 6pm (they’re usually sold out by 6pm)

The Adelphi is one of our fave places for a Guinness. Their roasts are great too! All roasts are served with a Yorkshire pudding, ruffled thyme- roasted potatoes, buttered savoy cabbage, leeks, peas & roasted root vegetables and red wine jus. If you’re up for sharing, they do a delicious 21 day aged sirloin of beef. Pigs in blankets and stuffing are included with the beef and half roast chicken, but not the slow roast pork belly. Add on some cauliflower cheese if you’re feeling indulgent. Nut Roast (suitable for vegans) is also available with veggie gravy.

Address: 1-3 Hunslet Rd, Leeds LS10 1JQ

Brunswick

Served 12 noon – 7pm

Sunday roasts at Brunswick usually sell out – and for good reason! Book ahead to avoid disappointment. All roasts are served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, maple syrup glazed carrots, cabbage, gravy and a mini Bloody Mary. Choose from topside of beef, porchetta, chicken supreme or the veggie/vegan roast. The vegan option is served with olive oiled carrots and sweet potato mash instead of Yorkshire pudding. Extra sides include baked cheesy leeks, truffle mash and pigs in blankets.

Cross Keys

In our humble opinion, Cross Keys is the best gastro pub in Leeds. Their kitchen prepares menus using locally sourced food daily and they take great pride in their roasts. The Cross Keys is one of those ‘safe bets’ when thinking about your Sunday in Leeds. You’re always going to get a great Sunday roast there. Plus, their wine list (including champagne by the glass) is fantastic. If you haven’t been yet, book in for this weekend… and thank us later.

Lamb & Flag

Served 12 noon – 7pm

We love the Lamb and Flag for its exposed brickwork and courtyard beer garden. Cosy up there during the winter and you’ll find the full range of Leeds Brewery beers behind the bar, an extensive range of draught lagers, wines, spirits and soft drinks to accompany their menu of locally sourced, freshly cooked food. What’s not to love? All of their meats are supplied by Yorkshire Dales Meat Company and roasts are served with braised spiced red cabbage, mashed potato, seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and red wine gravy. Choose from topside beef, roasted belly pork with crispy crackling, roast chicken breast and nut roast. Additional sides available are pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese or pork & sage stuffing.

Neighbourhood

Served 10am – 6pm

When we heard about the Bottomless Roast at Neighbourhood, our first thought was ‘Oh yes… all the Yorkshire puds we can eat!’ Sadly, that’s not the case – but there is bottomless gravy. And 90 min of bottomless fun. Choose from roast topside beef, roast chicken breast or courgette & cashew bake with roast potatoes, mash potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, parsnips, carrots, cabbage and bottomless gravy. Wash it all down with unlimited prosecco, gin, pink gin, vodka, rum, or a seasonal cocktail.

The Tetley Bar and Kitchen

Served 12 noon – 4.30pm

The daily menu at The Tetley has been plant-based since earlier this year but they still have regular meat dishes on the specials and their Sunday roasts have long been a  tradition in Leeds. The kitchen uses Yorkshire or UK grown ingredients as much as possible that vary with the seasons and this shows in their seasonal side dishes throughout the year.  Choose from roast striploin of beef (served medium rare), slow cooked pork belly with apricot and sage stuffing or mushroom wellington. All served with Yorkshire pudding, smashed potatoes, spring greens, root veg in a sticky glaze, homemade roasting juice gravy and stuffing. For the vegan option, diners can have the mushroom wellington without a Yorkshire pud and a delicious porcini mushroom gravy. They also have vegan dessert options.
