All you need to know about the WTL Stage for Leeds Jazz Festival

Now the Leeds Jazz Festival has returned for another year, so has our the beautiful WTL stage. Over the course of the weekend, 28 performances and two panel discussions will take place for free, on our family-friendly, open-air stage on Cookridge Street. 

The stage, located between The Light and Henry Moore Institute, features its own seating area and will host live acts and DJs from Friday, May 26 through Monday, May 29. These performances and DJ sets have been carefully handpicked by a number of different partners to showcase the finest of the local scene.

Radisson Blu and Browns will be providing food and drink all weekend long. The performance is free and open to the public, so settle into deck chair and prepare for Jazz in the sun!

WTL Stage times: 

Friday 26th: 6pm – late

Saturday 27th: 1pm – late

Sunday 28th: 12 30pm – late

Monday 29th: 1pm – late

Friday – 6pm till 8:30pm curated by Sable Radio 

The main event on Friday is the band slot for Mica Sefia who will be taking to the WTL stage and we can’t wait for this performance. Backed by a stellar ensemble of talented musicians, Mica’s performance is set to be a true showcase of artistry and improvisation.

Saturday – 1pm till 8:30pm  – curated by DJ Lubi 

Leeds Jazz has invited legendary live music promoter DJ Lubi to host our stage on Saturday 27th May. He’s curating a day full of jazz from across the spectrum featuring many of the great young musicians he works with who are currently lighting up the scene.

Sunday – 12:30 – late – curated by Launchpad 

Sunday is a day of music and chats as Launchpad go about curating a full day of emerging talent, from all corners of the jazz+ world. There will also be two panel discussions; on diversity and careers in jazz.

Monday – 1-8pm – curated by JazzLeeds

JazzLeeds will close the stage as they go about celebrating their 16th birthday with an afternoon of some of the best of our activities from the past year.
