A new distinct Welcome in Leeds
LeedsBID is stepping up its welcome for those people coming into Leeds, focusing on the importance of the visitor experience.
As Leeds hosted the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) in the middle of May, the BID (Business Improvement District) is ensured that visitors, including the 7,000 delegates in town for the conference, received a warm and distinct introduction to the city.
Out and about across the city, the new Welcome Hosts were on hand for that more personal welcome, providing a friendly face, and essential tourist information while helping people navigate their way across the city. And in addition, the new Welcome to Leeds digital media vehicle was spotted at key locations, conveying essential daily information as well as advertising city events and activities
The fully electric vehicle, fitted with solar panels, is the first of its kind utilised by a Business Improvement District in the UK.
LeedsBID Chief Executive Andrew Cooper said:
“It is essential to create and maintain a great city centre experience for those who visit Leeds as well as for those who live and work here. We wanted to give everyone, including the 7,000 delegates descending on the city in May, a warm welcome and lasting good impression of being in Leeds.”
“In Leeds, we are seeing real change and transformation to future-proof the city, from the high street to developments across the city from Sovereign Street to the Southbank. It’s exciting to be able to show the visitors how the city is working collaboratively to raise its profile and to tell its story.
