Live Laugh Leeds: Comedy Roundup – November 2026
Larry Budd
Hey, who stole Autumn? The Grinch?! Widening his sphere of theft no doubt. The Whoville Police Department needs to pull its finger out. Two minutes ago it was summer, and now here we are. The heating’s gone on. The arguments about the heating going on are… um… going on. And the supermarkets have very much decided it’s Christmas.
Fortunately, Leeds has a warming amount of comedy this month.
City Varieties has another brilliant month. The incredible Rachel Parris (5th Nov) is a must. Her stand-up and funny musical musings are often overshadowed by her TV work, but do yourself a favour and see her live if you can. Also at the Varieties this month: Irish chaos merchant Jason Byrne (6th), the wonderful Flo & Joan (8th), whose Edinburgh show was about the funniest thing I saw this year, and the legendary Dylan Moran (9th & 10th).
The Wardrobe is equally well stocked with the excellent Olga Koch (10th), Anesti Danelis (2nd), Laura Lexx (12th), Michael Akadiri (19th) and Jacob Hawley (25th).
The Glee Club has a bumper month of its own. The inimitable Jordan Brookes (18th) gets a standalone show, and the always-charming Carl Hutchinson (12th) is a reliable Thursday night treat. And if you need a reason to leave the house on a Saturday afternoon, Josie Long & Robin Ince (21st): two of British comedy’s finest, two decades in. Also at the Glee: Hannah East (5th), Harry Stachini (19th) and for Leeds’ Romanian community, there’s a visit from duo Bordea & Cortea (22nd).
Hyde Park Book Club has a strong month. Australian comic Grace Jarvis (1st) shares the night with Irish crowd favourite Andrew Ryan. Other top tips from us include Lawrence Dodd (2nd), Amy Matthews (8th), Killian Sundermann (11th – at sister venue The Lending Room), and Milo Edwards (29th).
Leeds Playhouse gets in on the act this month with the launch of Chuckl Comedy Club (21st) in the Courtyard Theatre. It’s a new standalone comedy night headlined by Friday Night Dinner and Plebs favourite Tom Rosenthal, with Live at the Apollo regular Ignacio Lopez, Tal Davies, and MC Jay Neale.
Amid its unsurprisingly incredible music line-up, Brudenell Social Club welcomes The Lancashire Hotpots on the 7th. Grumpy middle-aged me didn’t want to like them when I saw them at a festival this summer. I loved them, obviously. Hilarious and brilliantly entertaining.
Sela Bar hosts the Wreck the Mic comedy club (29th) with Leeds circuit favourite and BBC/ITV regular Silky headlining.
Finally from me, Kevin Bridges (19th) and Bill Bailey (28th) both hit the first direct bank Arena.
November then. It has no business being this good, comically-speaking of course. Wrap up, go out, laugh. The heating argument will still be available when you get back.
And as ever, look out for regular comedy nights at Hi-Fi Club, Headrow House, The Original Oak, The Old Woollen, and the Parkside Tavern.
