Bald Caps, Big Hits and a Brand New Festival: Roundhay Day One in Photos

Leeds has waited a long time for a moment like this, and Roundhay Festival delivered on its very first day. Jason Derulo brought the star power early, working the natural amphitheatre of Roundhay Park like he’d been playing it for years, before Pitbull closed things out — greeted by a genuine sea of bald caps stretching back up the hillside, a sight Leeds won’t forget in a hurry. Mr Worldwide, meet the BALD-Es of LS8. With Tinie Tempah and Lil Jon rolling back the years in between, the music did the talking — but so did the festival itself. From the slick site layout and easy parking to signposting that actually made sense, the praise has been near-universal for how smoothly the whole thing has come together. Not bad for a debut.
