Mint XL: Leeds Gets a Brand New 2,000-Capacity Venue

Chapter 81

The team behind Mint Warehouse and the legendary Mint Club have announced their boldest move yet, a brand new 2,000-capacity venue coming to Leeds later this year.

Mint XL is the latest chapter from a name that has been woven into the fabric of Leeds nightlife since the 90s. From the intimate energy of Mint Club to the outdoor scale of Mint Festival, the brand has spent three decades earning its place at the heart of the city’s music culture. Now, that experience is being channelled into something purpose-built for a new era.

Spread across multiple rooms, the venue has been designed with flexibility at its core — capable of hosting everything from large-scale electronic music events and extended DJ sets to live performances, brand activations, and private hires. Sound has been a clear priority, with a newly installed Funktion-One Vero system powering the main rooms alongside high-spec production throughout.

True to form, Mint XL will operate a strict no-phones policy during club events — keeping the focus where it belongs.

Owner Shane Graham describes it as a natural progression: “From Mint Club through to Mint Festival, we’ve spent nearly two decades building something special in Leeds, and this is a natural progression of that journey. It allows us to take everything we’ve produced over the years and deliver it at a much bigger club setting.”

More details — including the opening date and first events — are expected via mintxl.co.uk.

It allows us to programme multi-bill lineups at a much bigger scale across multiple rooms, while also expanding beyond electronic music into live bands, private hires, and brand-led events.”
