The Ticket Stub – October 2025 best gigs

The invention of fizzy water, the first Marks & Spencer, David Batty – just three icons Leeds has delivered to the world so far. If you’re new to the city (hello freshers) you’ll soon learn just how much Leeds has to offer – culture, history, and most relevant of all, new music.
The Brudenell Social Club is known worldwide as a hub for new artists, spanning multiple genres, as well as playing host to popular heritage acts. While we’re old enough to be nostalgic for the Cockpit (RIP), in 2025 you still have Oporto, the Hyde Park Book Club, the Key Club and the Wardrobe, plus the University, the O2 Academy and of course, the aforementioned Brudenell amongst others. We’ve condensed some of the current listings for you into our tips for October, just click through for tickets or to learn more.
Wednesday October 1st
Moonchild Sanelly is at The Crescent in York, tickets are £16 and worth every penny. Take a look at some of MS’s work so far, and listen back through the last LP.
Over at Oporto you’ll find Midnight Rodeo, a five-piece based in Nottingham and signed to Fat Cat Records – their debut LP is here, and tickets are via Futuresound.
Thursday October 2nd
Dirty Nice begin their new UK tour at the Hyde Park Book Club, this is a 14+ show and they’re performing as a six-piece. If you’re yet to see them / don’t know their history as (incredible) visual artists then be sure to take a scroll through their instagram. Grab a ticket here.
Saturday October 4th
The Pigeon Detectives are back on tour – supported by Monday Made and Gravy, they play the O2 Academy, doors at 7pm. Tickets here.
Over at The Wardrobe you can catch Vistas, that’s a 14+ show, grab a ticket.
Sunday October 5th
Currently selling out multiple shows over in Australia, UK dates from CMAT are a must-see. This Leeds O2 Academy show is sold out, but join the waitlist and you might get lucky.
Tuesday October 7th
Legss have cultivated a super loyal fanbase these last couple of years and have recently released their debut LP, Unreal. Catch them on this UK tour, supports TBA. Tickets here.
Friday October 10th
On Friday you have three excellent shows to choose from, especially if you like pop with a bit of bite: London’s Rose Gray has a debut LP out, catch her at The Wardrobe, tickets at this link. Local Ellur is playing at the Brudenell, that’s with SOMOH and Pixie McCann in support and is sold out – waiting list link for you here, while much-loved PINS can be found at Oporto – that’s with Loose Articles and Georgian.


Tuesday October 14th
Head back to Oporto on Tuesday if you’re after some Irish rap, thanks to Tallaght’s Curtisy. Learn more via their IG and buy a ticket here.
Wednesday October 15th
Go and see Heavy Lungs! Good fun guaranteed. Tickets via the Brudenell.
Thursday October 16th
A retro night for some at the Brudenell via indie stalwarts The Paddingtons, plus support. Go dig through their back catalogue if they’re new to you, or grab a ticket and head down regardless.
Friday October 17th
Venus Grrrls are a great live band, make sure you see them at Key Club – they also have Girlband and Pave in support. Tickets via this link.
Tuesday 21st October
Earlier in the year we caught KEO play at SXSW London, the first band in a long time we’ve then watched a literal queue of A&Rs wait in line to chat with management. Catch them while you can, down at Key Club.
Wednesday 22nd October
Lapsley is back and on tour and as ever you’d be mad to miss it. This one is at the Brudenell, with Gordi, and Su, I Think in support.
Friday October 24th
We’ve watched Somebody’s Child steadily build an ever-growing fanbase these last few years – headlining the students union at Leeds Beckett, last few tickets here.
Saturday October 25th
Sunflower Bean are back, and this time they have Ain’t in support – make sure you’re down early for this one and thank us later. Tickets for the Wardrobe here.
Thursday October 30th
Couple of good choices for tonight – Alien Chicks have played a tonne of shows over the last year or two and are always fun, they play at Oporto with Coal Mob in support.
