Giggling Squid Opens in Leeds with Thai Flavour and Floral Flair
Chapter 81
Giggling Squid, the bold and colourful Thai restaurant group, has officially opened its doors in Leeds, bringing its signature mix of flavour-packed dishes and eye-catching interiors to the heart of the city.
Located in the former RBS building on Park Row, the new restaurant is one of the grandest in the group’s growing portfolio. Founded in 2002 by husband-and-wife duo Pranee and Andy Laurillard, Giggling Squid began life in a tiny fisherman’s cottage in Brighton and has since expanded into a much-loved national brand.
Now open seven days a week from 12pm to 10.30pm, the Leeds branch serves up a menu full of fresh, vibrant and authentic Thai flavours. Dishes range from sizzling stir fries and fragrant curries to oodles of noodles, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available. There’s even a dedicated ‘squidlet’ menu for younger diners.
The restaurant’s interiors are just as exciting as the menu. Designed by Pranee herself, the space features opulent floral wallpaper, luxurious banquette seating and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
“We’re excited to bring Giggling Squid to Leeds and share our love for Thai food with the community,” said Pranee Laurillard, co-founder of Giggling Squid. “Whether you’re popping in for a quick lunch or celebrating a special occasion, we hope to offer a vibrant space where guests can enjoy delicious meals with friends and family.”
A takeaway menu – offering both click & collect and delivery – will be launching in the coming weeks. Those eager to be first in line can sign up online for updates.
