🤣 Live Laugh Leeds: Comedy in March 2025
Larry Budd
Our in-house comedian, Larry Budd takes us through his picks for March if you want a bit of a laugh.
March sees the arrival in Leeds of my extremely good friend, Richard Herring (30th March, City Varieties) – he’ll be on top form after being joined by internet superstars Larry & Paul on the phenomenally successful podcast RHLSTP last month.
Richard’s show “Can I Have My Ball Back?” is based on his experience with testicular cancer, and it’s extremely funny. Did I mention he’s my new best friend?
In fairness, the City Varieties is once again on top of the comedy game this month, with visits from Harry Hill (6th), Clinton Baptiste (7th), Andy Zaltzman (11th), John Shuttleworth (12th and 13th), and Deirdre O’Kane (28th). That’s all before Richard Herring arrives on the 30th. Did I mention I was on his podcast?
Peter Kay is back at the Leeds Arena – the first of a few visits this year. You can hear all about his garlic bread on the 7th and 8th.
Cult keyboardists Brett Domino & Steven Peavis return to their spaceship for a one-off Northern performance of the highly successful ‘BRETT DOMINO TRIO IN SPACE’ show – it’s at the Brudenell Social Club on Friday the 28th.
Our top tips at the Wardrobe this month include Eshaan Akbar (13th), the incredibly funny and surreal Spencer Jones (20th), and “rock’n’roll star of British Comedy” Rachel Fairburn (26th).
Finally, the Hyde Park Book Club welcomes the brilliant Micky Overman (4th), and much-loved circuit stalwart Stuart Laws (19th). Out of interest, Stuart was a guest on Richard Herring’s RHLSTP podcast a few months ago. It’s a great podcast, with only the very best guests.
As ever, look out for regular comedy nights at Headrow House, The Original Oak, The Hi-Fi Club, The Old Woollen, and the Parkside Tavern.
