🗞️ Live Laugh Leeds – Comedy in April

April’s comedy offerings start with one of the UK’s most brilliant, but most controversial comics. Frankie Boyle brings his ‘Lap of Shame’ to the Leeds Grand Theatre on the 1st of April. 

And he’s swiftly followed by a returning Leeds hero. Leigh Francis, believe it or not, has never been on tour as himself. Now, the Beeston-born behemoth of boisterousness brings Keith Lemon, Bear and Avid Merrion to the Grand for three nights – 5th/6th/7th April. 

Sandwiched between Frankie and Leigh, but thankfully not literally, podcast star Ed Gamble brings his latest set to the Grand on the 4th of April. 

More Yorkshire comedy heroes now – in the shape of The Brett Domino Trio, Yorkshire’s most successful two-piece electronic keyboard group. Their ‘Brettrospective’ at the Hyde Park Picture House on the 5th of April, is a feature-length look at their 15-years in the game, followed by a Q&A with the band itself. 

Strong recommendations from us this month at the City Varieties include Alasdair Beckett-King on the 19th of April, Count Arthur Strong on the 20th of April, and the legendary Tommy Tiernan on the 28th and 29th of April. 

Other highlights include Hifi’s Comedy Club on the 27th of April – with Angelos Epithemiou and Guests, Frank Skinner at the Leeds Playhouse also on the 27th of April, and three-time Leicester Comedy Award nominee Sikisa is at the Hyde Park Book Club on the 11th of April.
