Introducing Beercast

Beercast – Leeds is a new podcast presented by comedians Larry & Paul which celebrates, champions and Welcome to Leeds has partnered with it for series 1.

Over 10 episodes, it will feature pubs, breweries and people that have been elevating the scene to a whole new level, and making it the envy of drinkers nationwide.

Ever since Tetley’s Brewery shut shop and moved production out of the city, a new chapter has been written. The baton has been passed to a new and bold creative generation who are determined to leave their own legacy.

Episode 1

We are joined by Manager Beth as we sit in the pub’s stunning marble and copper bar, tiled front, and etched mirrors to talk about the history of the establishment that Sir John Betjeman called “the very heart of Leeds.” With famous beer writer Simon Jenkins, we explore the present situation. Maz Terron Busteros from Leeds International Beer Festival shows us how diverse the local scene is. Additionally, we get the first nomination for the pub crawl, which will be recorded as our grand finale, and our reporter Johnny meets some intelligent people who grow hops in their backyards for their neighbourhood brewery, which of course pays them in beer.
