World Triathlon Series
The pinnacle of triathlon competition in the UK
Representing the very best triathlon competition in the UK, the AJ Bell Triathlon returns to the city for a fifth time on 6-7 June 2020. The annual competition draws thousands of amateur triathletes from Leeds and beyond to compete on the same course as the world’s very best.
Since the unforgettable Tour de France Grand Départ in 2014, lining the streets to cheer on the world’s greatest athletes has become somewhat of a habit in Leeds. And the World Triathlon Series is no exception.
Whether you’re cheering on family and friends participating in the race, or catching a glimpse of the sport’s top superstars (like Leeds’ own Brownlee brothers), the World Triathlon Series makes for an exhilarating and epic day out.
“2020’s AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds will see both the amateurs and elite, once again head back to Leeds for what is set to be an unforgettable event on the triathlon calendar.”
The race begins in Roundhay park and ends in Millennium square. Athlete’s complete multiple laps around the city to give spectators ample opportunity to see their favourite participants in action.
Past Leeds winners of the event have included Georgia Taylor-Brown, who finished first in the 2019 elite women’s race, and the Brownlee brothers, who finished first and second in the 2016 finale.
